Instead of a Case File Extra, this is going to be the regular post you get every Friday, as a way to end the Mission Impossible marathon and give you a little break from the extra posts I’ve been sharing with you.
The action set pieces were there, but the tight and economical storytelling that made Rogue Nation and Fallout such an unexpected and fun cinematic experiences wasn’t there. One character with a lot of unexplored back story and potential is killed off, and the story arc of another character takes too long to reach its conclusion, causing the movie to have the longest running time of any movie in the franchise.
But unlike the others, you feel this run time.
