Future Me is probably hoping Present Me stops abandoning projects for her to finish. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Happy Monday Jay

Happy Monday!

I think we all do this๐Ÿ˜‚ in my case my brain chases novelty to avoid the boring work of doing it.

This really resonated with me, as I pulled up an old manuscript yesterday and went through the exact same spread of emotions.

It was definetly worth leaving it a while and then reading it with fresh eyes.

Some great advice hereโ€”thanks for sharing.

That's awesome man! So glad you're revisiti g this old work.

Let's see what you do with it now!

This was very relatable. Paused projects often feel foreign and are hard to return to, but it's also wonderful to revisit the stories and enhance them with the wisdom you've gained since.

Nicely written! I relate so much!! It's those uncomfortable feelings of revisiting that I've resisted and avoided and why I probably struggled to prioritize writing in my life for so long!!

Thank so much for reading, Stacey. I appreciate your attention.

It's something I did for quite a while before I understood my brain better and learned that I get caught in chasing novelty to avoid dull repetitive work of getting things done.

Congratulations on reaching this level of self understanding! I avoided this for a long time.

It seems to be a lifelong lesson I keep returning to!

I think we need periodic remindinh because everything conspires to make us forget.

Thank you for reading! That has been my experience with abandoned projects, and it made sense when I discovered that neurodivergency makes me chase novelty rather than sticking it out with one project all the way through.

The distance is a way to trick my brain into seeing the abandoned writing as a new thing.
