Breakin' N' Enterin' (1984)

Hip Hop/Breakin' West Coast Style

This is my little space to share underseen media and pop culture nodal points with other fellow geeks. If my posts delight you and encourage you to seek out these titles, please consider buying me a Ko-Fi. Your support helps me to bring you more forgotten gems in pop culture.

The West Coast bookcase to Style Wars.

In between the 2 coasts the country was slowly waking to craze of breakdancing and graffiti shortly before it became a global thing.

And in Breakin- N’ Enterin’ you get to see it at its larval stages, with a young Ice T serving as your guide.

One fatal omission:

  • I forgot to mention that Breakin’ the movie produced by Cannon Films, inspired by this documentary, besides featuring Ice T, Shabba Doo, and Boogaloo Shrimp, also showcased JCVD pre Bloodsport fame.

  • Perhaps an even greater omission was forgetting to mention that besides Breakin’, Bloodsport was the other huge hit Cannon Films would be known for.

JCVD trained both in martial arts and ballet so they came in handy when he connected with Cannon Films

Enjoy the nostalgia!
