This is my little space to share underseen media and pop culture nodal points with other fellow geeks. If my posts delight you and encourage you to seek out these titles, please consider buying me a Ko-Fi. Your support helps me to bring you more forgotten gems in pop culture.
I have to apologize in advance.
I am experimenting with a new recording format, so things didn’t go as smoothly on my first attempt at using a webcam and video recording software as I would have liked. I am figuring it out slowly.
And the glitches here can easily be fixed by raising the volume a little and keeping your eyes on the left side of the frame. (If you are recording this way and have overcome these minor technical issues, please share them with me.)
But my soothing voice still comes through clear, and the storytelling lessons are just as valuable.
My investigations have unearthed another underseen classic for you.
Things to love about this one:
Subtle references to the work of Philip K. Dick, and Three Days of the Condor
If you like to do fashion spotting there’s prime 90s outerwear here
The Hero’s Journey
A Roger Corman produced movie, so you’ll see that a lot can be done with very little money
A mistake I made: I said the movie Impostor (from the Philip K. Dick story of the same name) was released in 2002. It was released in 2001 actually.
The movie tells a story well, and adds one last bit of cleverness at the very end.
You’ll want to take notes with this one.
