This is my little space to share underseen media and pop culture nodal points with other fellow geeks. If my posts delight you and encourage you to seek out these titles, please consider buying me a Ko-Fi. Your support helps me to bring you more forgotten gems in pop culture.
The pop culture detective struck gold!
There’s so much to love about Patrick:
Minimalist horror. I mean horror on a low budget that has a big effect on the viewer
How the unlikely plot elements (coma patient, telekinesis) come together in a satisfying narrative
Themes of women’s liberation skillfully woven into the narrative
We’re a few days away from Halloween when this lands, so if you’re list for 31 days of horror is incomplete add this one to the list.
One correction: I said that Link (1986) was written by Everett DeRoche. That was a mistake. Everett wrote the screenplay from a story by Lee David Zlotoff and Tom Ackermann. The screenplay does not 100-percent originate with Everett. My mistake.
Have a safe and happy Halloween!
